Give traction to your message

Internet Marketing Comments Off

I have found two articles that you simply need to read. They give you the three key elements you need to turn your message around, either in writing on in person. If people think you are nice but are not willing to do business with you.

Give real traction to your messages.

Give real traction to your messages.

If you have very good deals but nobody apparently cares. If you sometimes get across as too eager to get business and therefore lose it, you must read the two following articles.

It doesn’t matter if you are a blogger, a real estate investor like me or any one else, this is something you don’t want to brush off.

Read these two articles:

The Ancient Persuasion Tactic Behind “But Wait, There’s More!”

Why You’re Too Qualified and Respectful to Produce Great Content

and you will discover the following techniques:

1.How to become bold or bolder in your message so that people act on it.

2.Which type of public you are really aiming for.

3.How to pump up the volume of your message so that people really get it.

It is good stuff by people who know their business therefore it is worth your time.

Never doubt your “corner”, a true story in 15 rounds

Storytelling 2 Comments »

Roberto Mazzoni, here, and today I have an incredible story to tell, that of Joe Rivera, a previous WBA welterweight world champion that has toured the whole world in the 80ies and 90ies fighting against some of the most formidable boxers and winning three championships, and now living a very frugal life, biking 37 miles a day, both ways, to get to work.

I have met this man by chance today in a little rehab project I was running in Clearwater, Florida. He was brought to the site by a friend of mine who is the general contractor running the show and I was surprised by the incredible energy coming out of this man who self proclaimed himself one hundred per cent American Indian, with a Puerto Rican accent.

Joe Rivera is the name of this gentleman who has become an handyman after having come very close to being incredibly rich. I couldn’t believe his story myself, so I spent some time researching online and checking it with my friend the contractor, and Joe is the real deal. He has actually fought on the most important boxing rings in the world.

He is a simple man with little education that apparently succumbed to the cunning of agents that knew much better how to read contracts. And he, on his side, was not able to govern his riches when he had them due to plain lack of education. A man who has learned to live life in a tough way and he enjoys doing it. Listening to his video interview you will get three advices:

  1. keep your hands up
  2. always throw punches
  3. never, never, never doubt your corner

which mean never doubt the advice of your coach and be always ready to follow them promptly and precisely. Your coach will make you great providing he is a great coach and you are willing to listen.
A lesson that is applicable to any field and that I want to pass on to you today.

And remember: Always a “nobody” can beat a “somebody”. Do you feel like you are nobody, well you could as well be the next champion.

Roberto Mazzoni

P.S. there is another Rivera who is also a boxing champion of much more recent times and who is all over the Internet, therefore Joe not only has lost everything but the very memory of him his challenged. Help me build him a little piece of eternity on the Web by linking to this post or passing along  the video of him.

People change when they are challenged

Storytelling Comments Off

I have just completed the motorcycle rider course that was required for me to become a legal bike rider in Florida. I have been riding for quite a long time in Italy but I had never gone through a formal training program on the subject and I was amazed at the number and quality of concepts I managed to learn during this three days experience.

There had been things I had been doing instinctively without me knowing the reason why I was doing them and there had been concepts that were just missing and that are instead very relevant to perform a safe and pleasant ride. But what surprised me the most was the level of challenge involved with the course.

The training and testing range where I got my motorcycle license.

I had gotten the idea and maybe somebody even told me that it was just something you had to do in order to get your paperwork straight but there wasn’t much to it. Quite on the contrary the type of actions we were supposed to learn and perform with our bikes were challenging even for an experienced rider as me.

Also the precision of those actions and the time involved in the training itself, over 12 hours of actual exercised and tests, was quite surprising. Note that some of the students who attended the class and that eventually passed it had never rode on a bike before. The training was actually organized in a long series of consecutive steps, each one building on top of the previous one and leading from the very basics up to the most complex actions.

The bike that got me though the training and the tests. I had never used it before.

It was amazing seeing that under the challenge of the program, people would actually move from nowhere to being able to ride and control their vehicle to an high standard and that this was accomplished by the vast majority of the people attending the course.

The coaches were really good and the program has been tested nationally on many thousands of people, yet the most important things was that never during the training the coaches indulged with the thought that some of the students would not make it. They simply knew it could be done and that we could do it. On our side, we felt challenged to measure up to other students and to simply show we could also make it and it simply happened.

Sailing into the future of coaching

Networking 2 Comments »

Yesterday was my second Columbus day in America. It creates always a peculiar feeling being Italian and participating in a holiday where such a great number of people celebrate another Italian for having discovered such a great continent. I also have the intention of bringing something new and important in this country and therefore I have decided to set October the 12th as a benchmark date for my activities in the future.

Yesterday it was indeed a very important one because I have brought to the next stage a relationship that I have been cultivating since February of this year and that has required lot of patience and nurturing to foster and to bring to its current strength, but that has tremendous potential for the future. They say that the bamboo tree takes 2, 3, 4 years to fully develop its roots: it only grows a few inches, but then it can shoot up 47 inches in just one day, and they develop to their full height (up to 250 feet) in just 3 months.

It all began with an event about Internet Marketing and how to build a joint venture here in Tampa. I had been in the US for approximately six months and I had already met several types of gurus and investors, but no real match for me.

Me and Mark on stage at his latest event in Atlanta.

I had a clear idea on how my business was going to develop, but nobody I had found was patient enough to wait for it to unfold fully and to find common activities to share in the meantime. They all wanted the bamboo now, without waiting for it to grow. Everybody was kind of looking for business opportunities right here, for the low hanging fruit. No commitment, no depth of relationships.

The event was organized by Dan Stojadinovic another European from Serbia who has built a very strong presence in Internet Marketing and real estate investing. Dan always invites several speakers to his events and makes sure that they deliver solid content. He is also a very strong promoter of the idea of joint venture so I was sure that I was going to meet somebody special at this particular event, and I did.
