Today I promoted three different blog articles through my Twitter account, which is the only mean by which I drive traffic to my site. They were on different subjects but all focused on topics that I expected would be popular: advices on how to sell your home, the main mistake you can do in selling (working only on reducing price) and the need to keep up with your dreams and projects because the initial part of any endeavor is always the toughest.

The Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.
The last one was the article that I liked to write the most, I must say. It was titled“The first mile is always the longest” and people were retweeting it (passing it on to their friends) already at 4 am in the morning. I got many immediate feedbacks and comments by people who felt their day and life had been improved by reading it. So I know I touched something that is really important for some people.
And this is the best reward for a writer. Then I looked at the statistics and noticed that most of the readers were North Americans and actually I wrote it thinking to my American friends, who face life challenges every day and that are always willing to make themselves personally accountable and carry forward to their next objective, to toward their dreams, often with very little support and in a very competitive and selective environment.
The most popular article was anyway the one on “Old fashion selling”. It had many readers in the US, but it gathered interest in Russia, Canada, the UK, Japan and other areas in Europe. The second most clicked was the “5 real estate myths” dedicated to people who are trying to sell their home.
It got many readers in the US, and this was expected, but lo and behold it got it was also quite popular in Russia, Canada, Japan, various parts of Europe and New Zealand.
So the world is listening and there might buyers out there, much beyond the US borders. Buyers that are looking for good deals and for guidance. The three articles were actually connected because if you don’t learn how to sell (which means promote and make acceptable) your service or product you will never arrive at your first milestone. You will get very close, but you’ll never touch it.
Selling a house is just an example of what you could do by interacting with the world. I come from a country, Italy, where the majority of companies are family based and they make most of their revenue by trading abroad. Just today I got into my Facebook e-mail a very professional presentation by an Internet marketing specialist in the Philippines.
It is becoming a small world and the US will become much more successful, I believe, if the people that are trying to launch their own business, build it so that it is international from the beginning.
